When it Rains is Pours

A family of four kids and their mother were killed yesterday as they were enjoying what later became their last breakfast. An Israeli missile went through the roof and did what missiles do best, kill as many as they can. I apologize for including a picture of them, but this was the least graphic picture I can find for them. I wish I have put pictures of them playing or doing what kids do, but it is unfortunate, they had to be dead to be heard of.

As heartbreaking this maybe to families in Gaza, very few reported the story in the mainstream media. 6 Hours later of this tragedy a friend of mine get killed by sniper fire in the chest and the head. Mua'ad was his name, he is 22 years old and they used to own a wholesale grocery store cross the street from ours. He was the best locking among his brothers and now he is gone.

These incidents made me reflect on how many people are happy to pay the Palestinians to die, they only compensate them and put their families on welfare once they are dead. On the other hand, so many of those in the developed world are happy to pay the Israelis to kill! So many military aid goes to Israel from more countries than i care to count. So this is one of the roots of the problems in the area, others create incentives for both Palestinians and Israelis to act they way they act. Palestinian die, Israeli make sure they do.

The only person, I recall who manged to get and an Arab nation and Israel compensated to not to kill each other was President Carter. Will there be another leader who would pay people to live? or at least not pay them to die or kill?

While Gaza mourns today, and I remember my friend Mua'ad, the Palestinians continue to chase delusions and the Israelis continue to do what they do best, provide excuses for inexcusable actions.

hani, thanks for your posts! i'm so glad that you report what the american newspapers choose not to publish. i'm also very sorry to hear about your friend. sometimes, being so far away, people forget that this war is actually killing real people, thank you for helping humanize the impact of this war.

That is so sad. I would find it wrong if the media didn't talk about those deaths because as a nation we are more focused on us, but it isn't that. It is that it is easier to justify our actions (funding Israel in their killing not to mention the international laws they have broken) if we use selective listening.

Just know that most American who understands the situation are against it--the biggest problem is how much has been covered or hushed up.
